Description: This armoire was elaborated using an original colonial door from Arequipa, south of Perú, likely of the 18th century. Remnants of the original paint have been conserved. The colonial wood is Andean alder, and it was used for the sides as well as the back. The hinges and nails were hand-made forged, and the door bolt is an original from the republican era (19th century). The door was rescued from the 2001 massive earthquake that devastated this historic city.
