This storage bench was entirely made of Andean oak rescued from the repair of the railway ties of the Lima-Huancayo train, the oldest in South America. and the second highest in the world. The wood is likely from the mid- 20th Century, though the design closely follows that of colonial benches that once also served to rest and as trunks or storage.
