This friar’s chair (or frailero, in Spanish) is made of alder wood. The seat and back are made of embossed leather and the remnants of the chair’s original paint have been conserved. It was rescued from a Colonial house in Cusco city that was under repair. This piece dates back to approximately the 18th Century.
